I'm a cancer survivor and I have to say that waiting for results is one of the worst parts. I tend to be very "in charge" of my life and it made me feel so helpless to just wait. The only advice I can offer is to continue to do things that you really enjoy if only to keep your mind occupied with something else. Exercise... walk, run, ride a bike, clean out your closets! *L* Anything that gets you moving. Physical activities go a long way to helping relieve the anxiety. Be around people you find supportive regardless of whether you need to throw a "pity party" or you want people around who make you laugh.

I once had a doctor forget to contact me about potentially serious test results. I had to call his office and ask what was taking so long. Now I always ask how long results will take and how I will be notified. Hang in there. Good luck. I'll keep you in my prayers.

Keeping calm is never easy; especially when the results could mean that your whole life is about to change and not in a positive way. When I was waiting for medical results to come in I would just leave the house. There is nothing worse than waiting around for the telephone to ring. Take a long walk, contemplate, do something you really enjoy. Be with people who make you laugh, or someone that makes you forget life for a while. Do something you've never done before. Go to bed at night and as hard as it may be, close your eyes and believe that no matter what everything will be ok.

Tetsts do not mean anything unless they come back positive.
They very often don't.
Ovarian cancer is usually solved by surgery.
The surgery will make you no less of a woman, even if it does happen. ( I don't know why women feel less like women after a hyst but they do.)
I had surgery for prostate cancer three years ago. No biggy!
(No pun intended here)
Do I feel like less of a man? No way. Do I now have experience to share with other guys with the same problem?
Of course I do.
And I don't have to get up six times in the night to go to the bathroom.

I sincerely hope that the tests come back negative.
If they don't ...well. it's just a bump in the road, not the end of the road. Hang in there!

When I got my initial mammogram I was called back to get another one because they saw something on the x-ray. I was very nervous at first but then they told me that they usually use the first pictures as a baseline and just needed to check it out further. The best thing you can do is go about your daily life and do the things you normally do. You could also talk to other women who have had similar experiences. Hang in there hon!

I went through something like that (wasnt female organs, though). I did not find a way to calm down. Was nervous as hell waiting for my results.

I hope your results are as good as mine were.

That is where my faith is a wise and loving God comes in. I know how limited and mixed up this world is, and that good and bad things happen that I have no control over. I have to trust God that he is 'working all things together for good' ultimately, no matter what happens.

You may not have that faith, and then the other responses are the best in that case,, that worrying won't help you anyway.

Accept that you have absolutely no control over the results, then relax and wait it out.

Try telling yourself that worrying will not change the results.
