"In cognito" is definitely a Latin word. It must have been used by a European before it landed on the English isle. Voila. That should be known to all by now.

Didn't give any thought to incognito, but when I was child, I thought dish washers were like washing machines, and was so confused as to why people who used these things didn't have loads of broken dishes and glasses....I know better now though!
