someone might have stolen them or they may have adopted someone else to be their owner. You should check the local animal shelter. Sometimes animal control picks up stray animals. Next time you get a pet I highly reccomend you get it microchipped. That way if the pet runs away and animal control picks it up, they will scan for a microchip and they will return your pet to you.

What happened to your cats depends a lot on where you live. I live in a desert area, so there are many places where putting a cat outside means that you are likely providing lunch for a coyote. Ditto, areas that have foxes or other predators. If you live in an area with high traffic, you may have lost you cats to cars. You may have mean neighbors who trap or poison cats, or even who use them for target practice.

The best insurance for your cat is to keep them inside. Next, spay/neuter or cats. Unneutered male cats will travel great distances for a chance at amore. Female cats, even if you keep them inside, are likely to be very annoying when they are in heat.

If you feel your cats really want or need to go outside, try to limit their time. If you are in an unsafe place due to predators, traffic or neighbors, only take them out on a leash and supervised!

One of the suggestions is to get a microchip implanted. This is better than trying to put on a collar and tag. Every cat I've ever had has lost its collar. One even lost the thing inside the house, but we've never been able to find it.

I'm sorry about your cats. Do check the lost and found ads, as well as checking the shelters. You might also consider putting in an ad, as well as possibly putting signs up around your neighborhood. Good luck. I hope you find them.

Poor kitty with an irresponciable cat owner like you! your cat is probably dead because of you. if you would take care of your cat and keep it inside you wouldn't have to be going through all of this. maybe he is someplace waiting for you to feel bad enough and then he will come home and teach you a lesson.

I do hope your cat is alright and you have learned from your mistakes.

If they have reached the age of "hormones" they may be Tom catting around.... I guess that is why they say you never really own a cat, they own you...

...If they have been fixed they may be back in a few days, they like to explore at times....good luck!

Well, any thing could have happened, if you live in a neiborhood with children, kids could have picked them up and "adopted" them, if you live in a wooded area, they could have ran after another animal, rabbits, rats, etc, and got lost, and they may come back on their own, if you live near a busy road....lets not look at it that way.... your best bet would be to put up posters with pictures if you want them back and if someone has them they may return them... good luck

next time do not make this mistake. if you want your cats to be safe make these choices
1. put in on a cat leash when taking it outside
2. build a good fence around ur backyard
3. make it an INDOOR CAT

i hate cats that roam around the neighborhood with out supervision

Sounds like someone snatched them. Cats always come home for food. I also have 2 cats. I hope you had collars & license on both of them.

If they didn't have tags, there's a possibility they may have been picked up by an animal control unit. It would be advisable to contact the Humane Society or animal shelters in your area.

I would put milk and food on my front porch and they may come back. I am sure yo miss your cats but I would never put my poor cat outside without me being with them.
