I know the devil wears a red Leotard, but I what I don't understand is this:
1. Why does he want to cast my wretched soul into a lake of fire, where ghoullish demons and flesh eating freaks torment me for all of eternity?
2. What can I do to foil his dastardly plans?
3. Does it seem strange for a normal, rational adult to believe in a "devil"?

south_lido: believing in an invisible "devil" is rational? Believing in something you can't see, hear or measure would be the opposite of rational (irrational) wouldn't it?

robert p: the only problem with the whole "rattlesnake" comparison is this:
I have seen a rattlesnake. I can go to the zoo to see a rattle snake. I can see a rock and a rattlesnake anytime I want. The devil is a different story. I have never seen a devil and neither have you.
Your comparison is illogical.

All you need to do is to pray to the sun god Ra and accept him as your god and you will never have to worry about that pesky leotard wearing Devil again.

Important questions about the devil..?
I know the devil wears a red Leotard, but I what I don't understand is this:
How do u know? someone told you/ you read this somewhere?
1. Why does he want to cast my wretched soul into a lake of fire, where ghoullish demons and flesh eating freaks torment me for all of eternity?
When your body is down here which part of you is going to suffer or feel. You need a brain and a nervous system for all that. - But your body is rotting in some grave.
2. What can I do to foil his dastardly plans?
Don' torment youself before you die. the he/she devil will do it for you later. By the way is the devil a he or a she?Don't you know that - after all you "know" the devil.
3. Does it seem strange for a normal, rational adult to believe in a "devil"?
Normal adults/ rational people/adults are not fools to believe in anything that is said or written - unless they are not normal . Normal adults want to realise for themselves. How can a man know the pain of child-birth. - he can read or be told but he will never know. How can any woman understand the ecstasy of male orgasm?

Neither the devil or GOD wants to cast your soul anywhere. GOD wishes that all would repent and receive his son Jesus. Hell is a choice "you" make, GOD just honors that choice. You choose to want nothing to do with GOD while living on this planet temporally. Why would this loving GOD, force you into his presence for eternity? The devil will be chained up, in this same hell ,right next to those he deceived suffering the same reprocutions. The only things that will be " eating" the souls there is the separation from GOD, because non-believers are going to see the Lord, the one they denied, before they are sent to their destination of choice. To foil this plot against you is to admit you ain't worth a dime. Realize Jesus, who is priceless, went to this same hell in your place and paid well over your bluebook value to keep you from going. Then sign your title over to him and serve him alone, give him your heart, mind and soul. Then you thank him every single day, with an apolagetic heart. If you don't believe in the devil then you surely must not believe in GOD. As for the leotard, rational adults shouln't believe that. The bible tells me, he's a handsome chap and a snappy dresser, a real "Angel of light."

I've heard it in movies and read it time and again.
Satan's greatest weapon is convincing people that he doesn't exist.
Sounds cliche I know.
Rather than dressed in red and all, I'd say that's more like Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie mixed together multiplied by a thousand. Looks wise I mean.
The demons are actually angels but fallen and prollly have fallen countenances.
Well. I could go on and on. I don't want to point you to groups in where that you could experience this Satan firsthand.

Believe that Jesus is the son of God and that He died for your sins and ask Him to become your personal savior. If you are sorry for your sin a God will forgive you and you can go to heaven. God loves you so much, He sent his only begotten Son to die on the cross so that you could be saved. I hope you are serious and will find a good bible believing church to attend and start reading the bible, I recommend the Kind James Version and to start in the book of John in the new testament.

It is not the devil that wants to cast you into hell it is God. He wants perfection and since you can't do it, hell is where you must go. See the devil is in the same boat. He was prideful and arrogant and that wasn't being the perfect worshiper to God so God kicked him out. The devil will be in hell ahead of you with the gnashing of teeth and for all eternity himself. God will only allow the perfection to honor and sing praises to Himself so if you haven't been covered by Jesus covenant with the Father, you are out of luck.
