keep the pit in it and rub the open area with lemon juice the acids in the lemon prevent it from going brown (but in general avocado once cut won't last that long 2-3 days MAX make sure it is wrapped in seran wrap and in a tight closed container no air possibly)

There's not much you can do. Once air hits the inside meat of an avocado, it's going to turn brown. It's best to use it, if you can. Otherwise, wrap the remainder with cellophane.

Leave the pit in. It will keep it fresh for about 24 hours. it will get a bit brown which you can scrape off but after about 2 days I'd let it go.

You can also leave the pit in guacamole to keep it looking green.

spritz it with lemon juice (keeps it fresh and from turning brown)......leave the pit, if you can.....and seal as tight as possible in a baggie or wrap.

(saw it on Emeril)
