My dog did nothing wrong and he came into our yard and kicked him. The next time I see him I will either kick him or his dog.

Film him and then have him arrested for animal cruelty. That should do it.

Oh you really touched a nerve here...

I have two dogs and two neighbors who I am convinced are mentally disturbed. One hollers and swears at my little dog Beau ...as if Beau would understand his rantings. He even fell down doing it and it made him madder. The other has early Alzheimer's I am sure. . I've known them both for 15 years now so I know there is a personality change changes going on there. One recognizes me one day but not the next. She gets nasty at my dog all the time. The other pleasant to me but goes ballistic over the dog. He even has a dog of his own and screams at him. I dare not let them out for more than 5 minutes and I am always with them. I am afraid one will shoot them. I am convinced they are not right in the head.

Nothing much else I can do with these two old timers. They'll both be dead soon enough from a self induced stoke no doubt.

If you see him coming into your yard again, rather than starting a fight, you might walk directly up to him and ask- 'may I help you?'- 'or is there a problem?' That puts the burden upon him to explain his actions, or at the very least refrain from doing it again. If he does have a problem with your dog, then you will be able to address it. He should not have kicked your dog. If your dog had been part of a problem, he should have come to you so you could deal with it. If he is just a nut who likes to kick dogs, you should be able to press charges of trespassing.

You need to not let your dog out in the back yard alone, and keep him in the house.

Frankly, I don't believe this question is for real because anyone in their right mind and who had some common sense mind would not ask if it's OK to kick a dog.

I don't think you should kick either one being violent does not solve the problem.
If this neighbor is an adult I would recommend reporting them to your local animal control if it is a young adult / child discuss this with there parent or report it to animal control.
It has been known that there is a link between animal abuse and child abuse.
If a person is willing to abuse an animal then they would most likley abuse a child /person.
Also place a lock on your gate so no one can enter your yard in less you invite them.
This is for your animals safety as well as yours,it would be bad if your animal bites someone even if it is self defense it would have to be quarantine for ten days at your cost.
Your animal depends on you to help them to be safe always ask the authorities /animal control officer ( aco ) in your state and area what is best in this situation.

Don't you dare sink to his level!! Then you'll be just as bad as he is! I understand that you're mad...you have a right to be! You need to go over there and TELL him that you SAW him kick your dog. Then just straight up ask him why he felt like kicking him. Tell him you have documented it and the next time it happens, you WILL call the authorities and get them involved. Ask him if he would like it if YOU kicked HIS dog, and why he felt he couldn't come to you like an Adult and talk about it !! Stand up to him but wait until you have calmed down! Nothing good ever comes out of anger!

The time to have called him on it was when he came into your yard. If you have your dog on the side near his house, put it on the far side from your neighbor. Have a camera ready to
photograph him if he comes into your yard again. Get pics of him and if he kicks or bothers your dog again, then call the police. He
has a lot of nerve doing such a thing!!

Next time he kicks your dog, call the cops! Then call the animal control people. Animal abuse is against the law. Cops sometimes don't take a problem like this very seriously, but animal control does. The cops can get your neighbor for trespassing onto your property and animal abuse. You neighbor sounds like a real asshole.
Please keep your dog away from the idiot. You dog depends on you to protect him.

You should kick him back and not kick his dog. It was him that kicked you, not his dog. His dog have nothing to do with the problem.
