I'm tempted to say "anything but Starbucks," but that's not what you want. On the road I prefer Dunkin' Donuts, and McDonalds actually isn't too bad. At home I use an organic shade-grown coffee that I buy at a health food store and grind on the spot. They have a lot of varieties, and all of the ones I've tried have been fantastic. Green Mountain Coffee Roasters has a pretty good coffee, too.

The best kind of coffee is the cup that greets you as you stumble, dazed and bleary-eyed, into the pre-dawn darkness of an upcoming 11 hour workday.
The second best coffee is the kind you drink at about 2:00pm right after lunch when an hourlong nap would be in order.
The third best kind of coffee comes with a slice of chocolate cake or a couple of cookies fresh from the oven.

The best type of coffee is one that's from Somalia called Kopi Luwak. This coffee is fully digested by an exotic animal and the fertilized bean is then processed for brewing. Although it's an amazing coffee, just 1 pound of Kopi Luwak will run you around $600.

Hands down Jamaican Blue Mountain Coffee, however a bit pricey. In a supermarket, I would say Cafe Bistello...

You might want to try out the Maxwell House Columbian Supreme and the French Roast. Those are good, smooth coffees.

I've tried almost every kind of coffee that you can buy and the only one that is the best is Folger's. It's mountain grown and tastes delicious. It is GOOD coffee. It is the BEST coffee you can buy and enjoy.

I really like good dark roast columbian beans. I buy whole beans and grind each pot fresh at home. My second favorite is Kona Coffee from the Island of Hawaii. I don't think the brand matters as much as the type of bean you buy if you are going to grind it yourself.
