Im latin and i know we are supposed to have sweet 15s not 16 but i lost that chance-so now my 16th bday is comming up in january 5 07 and i dont know if that would be a problem bcuz of the weather..my mom suggests having it later that year like march or april but im tired of waiting.i already missed my 15th and i dont wanna be16 then have my party months after--it would not feel right...someone help me ASAP so i can start planning!!! wat chu think???

Well, if you're planning on having it outside, then I sure would wait, unless you live in Southern Florida or California, the weather will be too unpredictable. But if you're going to do something indoors, then I don't see any reason why not to have it around your actual birthday. Maybe even do a New Years Eve birthday bash? That could be kinda fun, unless your friends are all the type that would be out of town, then it would suck.

I understand your heratige, but you are in America. Most girls have the sweet 16, so that should be fine. Unless, it will bother your family. But your mom may have a point. It will be too cold to do anything outside. My bf is Mexican and all the parties we went to that were thrown by his family were all big things, outside. They would rent tables and everything. So if you are adamint about having it outside, I would wait, But if you don't mind staying inside, I would go for it. Afterall it is your b-day... Have it the way you want it!
