What has become of the white and black construction workers?

Since the illegal Mexican immigrants have taken over construction I wonder what kind of jobs Americans that used to do construction are doing now.I heard a lot of them are now truck drivers or working at Walmart.Are a lot of them homeless now?

my brothers had to give up the roofing trade and lets look at a recent example the Katrina victims these men needed jobs and were under cut by illegals and sent away and i have read stories of companies who sent their jobs to mexico through the NAFTA thing and they promised to re train the people who lost their jobs and many report that didn't happen others even though re trained do not make as much in their new job

doing what we can to survive. Its tough being a union construction worker up here in Michigan. all the rich people expect you to lower your standard of living so they can get richer. i keep hearing about wage concession and paying more out of pocket health expense's . but you know what the funny thing is? its still costing more and more to build projects. so I know the fat cats are making more money. its just that the regime we have here in the U.S. caters to greed. so as always the good hard working honest man takes the hit. I think what the question pertains to is, the illegals come here from all over the world, not just Mexico. and they are willing to do our jobs for far less than what we are now being paid. because 1. they have know idea what good money is and 2. they are illegal so they haven't that much of a choice but to work for, in some case's under minimum wage. and in most ,far below union scale. That puts us out of work. in construction any more its not how good you are but how cheap can the next person get the job done.

Here in Wisconsin, all of the construction workers are black, white, & Asian. I don't see this influx of illegal Mexican immigrants that everyone speaks of. Not yet, anyways. But I don't know if we will way up here - the winters get rather chilly here. I know of many Wisconsin people that don't like the cold weather here.

They worked as truck drivers until the liberals complained about gas guzzlers, they than worked at Walmart until the liberals complained about their insurance, they tried to be homeless, but the liberals wanted to help them, so now they are working back in construction at lower wages.

in the town i live in there still doing construction work. i haven't seen to many Mexicans doing that work.they have stores here. all the illegals work under false identification, and work at the poultry plants. the company's know this, and continue to break the law them selves.

theyre the ones who have the for sale signs on their home and autos and lined up at the employment office. and the mexicans illegals are the ones who are buying the homes and autos and has their jobs.

No, they are still working. People want to have you believe that Americans of any color don't do these jobs, but I see lots of them out there working. Regardless of the slander that has been said about Americans, when times get tough alot of them will just suck it up and find other jobs. People I know who have been laid off have usually chosen to go to college. They don't just sit around and whine, they better themselves.

Janet W actually checks everyones ID. He just does a random walk everyday asking people if they are illegal and writes it down. Half the time he doesn't bother since he has a nose for this.
