I can't find any info on why they were banned (maybe I'm not searching right). Anyone know why they were and where I can find a website that talks about it? I think it's so weird!!

Dear Prancing Sturgeon, er, whatever your name is.

Darling, you started this. I'm just having fun pointing out to others what a priggish little snot you are :) When you finally 'fess up to the fact that your *very* first encounter with me was handled with no dignity and, in fact, was riddled with contempt and nastiness - and when you admit that it was *totally* uncalled for and you were WRONG to have been SUCH a, hmmm, let's go with "witch" LOL - then I'll stop pointing out to people how worthless you are.

Have a *nice* day, ok dearie?

You can contact the American Library Association. It is a vocal critic of the censorship of literature, and an advocate on behalf of the reading public and the First Amendment, even celebrating a banned books week. Here is a link to get you started:

The Very Hungry Caterpillar 'endorses gluttony' apparently. Also some stuff about the Sendak on here. Check the link.

What have you heard so far? I doubt they were banned in a widespread way, probably just by one or two schools or something.

I hope they were not banned, I read those books as a child and I read those books to my son and he loves them.

Maybe you heard wrong info.

Tee-hee. You answer my questions and comment on things of mine because you are SO bitter. I find it very entertaining, so when you learn to grow up, I'll have to find something else to entertain me.

Supposedly, Those books are some of many banned "degenerate" art books. It says so on many websites, though that makes no sense to me whatsoever. It is sad, those books are great.

I would try a news search engine. or log on to http://www.cnn.com and search through their news stories. I hadn't heard anything about it.
