I pulled out of my driveway and there was a car behind me parked on the side of the road (no one in it) and I hit it! Will my car insurance go up because of this and if so, how much. I have never been in a real accident, but about 3 years ago I did the same thing backing out of my driveway. Anybody that has insurace expertise? I did not get a ticket, just a warning.

yes it will go up for the next 6 years .... see if you can talk to the owner of the car you hit and pay for the damage instead of going though the insurance company you will save in the long run.. what a shame you pay for insurance and you get surcharge for a claim.....

If you can talk the owner of the other vehicle into allowing you to pay for the damages in full without you or them making a claim then you should be safe. If either of you makes a claim though, it's going to go up for several years. There are ways to help bring the cost down if there is a claim filed such as safe driving courses and point reduction courses that are usually offered by insurance companies. I would also suggest that in the future you make use of those interesting features that all cars have, called mirrors and check the area around your vehicle before getting in.
