My cat is out of control! She bites and attacks us all day long. I have small children and they love her but she is always attacking them. How can I get her to stop?

Take her to the vet FIRST. She might well be in pain and trying to get your attention to help her.

Put her in a quiet room where only the adults go. Small children and cats are a BAD idea and generally create problem animals, behaving exactly as you describe. Most childhood authorities suggest waiting until your youngest is 9 years or older before getting a pet.

This sounds like ONLY KITTEN SYNDROME. She might be trying to play as kittens are supposed to with other kittens. In that case, getting a second cat to play with her might resolve many of these problems.

I have a cat too. When i first got my cat, he use to always bite. These bites are called "love bites". Cats or Kittens love to play and thats there way of communicating their love and fun. I don't think you can do anything about it...it just takes time for the cat to mature.

There are different cats and behave differently. She maybe just need to adapt, you try to cuddle her and play with her and don't let the children make it afraid by running around it or grabbing it hard and stuff like that. Try using soft and kind habits with it that won't make it scared or even things that can make it ferocious. I know what's it like cause I have smaller bros and sisters and we had different pets but all of them were different. The best thing is being kind to the pet whatever the pet is and if that doesn't work then the best thing is to take it to the vet.

Unfortunately cats act out based on her surroundings. Small kids make lots of noise and that may be scaring her.

Keep her somewhere quiet for a while and then start giving her limited contact to the children. Tell them that they have to be quiet and, most importantly, gentle with her. It will take some time to get her to trust that no one is going to hurt her.

If your cat isn't fixed, then do so a.s.a.p.. Also, if this is a new behavior, it's a sign something's wrong and you should take it to your vet. I know it's part of your family, but a cat can cause serious infections if they scratch or bite so consider this please.
