here's a couple of my favorites:

When you sell a man a book, you don't sell him 12 ounces of paper and ink and glue - you sell him a whole new life.

Here are a few I really like.
"We're all in this together -- by ourselves." and
"It's gonna get worse before it gets worse."
(both by comedian/actor Lily Tomlin)
"Inside every older person is a younger person wondering: what the f**k happened!"
(comedian Jennifer Unlimited)
"The person who says it cannot be done should not interrupt the person doing it."
(Chinese proverb)
"Question: How many surrealists does it take to wish you a Happy Birthday?"
"Answer: Fish."
(on a greeting card by 78th Street)
And, finally, from that famous quoter Anonymous:
"Work as if you don't need the money, love as if you've never been hurt and dance as if nobody's watching."

this isn't really a quote, but it is two stanza from Dante's Inferno translated by Allen Mandelbaum. i always loved these poetic and flowing lines:
"Now you must cast aside your laziness,"
my master said, "for he who rests on down
or under covers cannot come to fame;
and he who spends his life without renown
leaves such a vestige of himself on earth
as smoke bequeaths to air or foam to water.."
so there ya go. hope you can use it. :)
