Firstly we do not know if God is against it? May be the Pope, may be the Bible.
The bible was first written by men 500 years later. Imagine whether the facts are true when there were no written books/papers for 500 years and all that was conveyed was by word of mouth, distorted according to the circumstances over more than 8 generations!
Narrow-minded people, frustrated people, unhappy people have always tried to interfere in other people's life as if they themselves are saints who do not do anything wrong!
See the beam in your eye rather than the moat in other's eyes.
