That's not fat, don't worry. if this girl keeps in shape with running and staying active, weight will not be an issue for her.

Just a side note: Though obesity is bad, people(especially females) worry way too much about their image, including weight. If this girl is looking to impress a guy, know that most guys will take a healthy looking girl over an extremely skinny girl contrary to popular belief.

Good luck for your friend.

Chinese girls, even going thruogh puberty seem to be very skinny in my sight.
I'm 5'5 and weight only 112 but am older. If the bulk of her weight is concentrated in one spot such as thighs, stomache, of her butt, she probably needs to concentrate on excersising more to mantain a healther look. however if its not concentrated then its just part of growing up. most people gain weight when they start puberty, I was 125 at her age. Also, if she is running that much she is going to keep GAINING weight in the form of muscle. its important to remamber that muscle mass weighs more than fat.
the last thing I want to point out is that if she is running too much she can over work her body and stop having her period. I know none of us wants it but if she even thinks she might want children some day then she needs to get help, because over-excersizing can really screw you up just as bad as over eatin or under eating.

good luck

nope, her weight may be a few pounds on the high end but it sounds like it's not fat but muscle that she is carrying.

Different people have different weight and bone structures. It really doesn't sound overly large to me. She should just keep exercising and not worry about it. Not everybody is meant to be pencil then and anorexic. (thank god. I hate those women.)

No, she sounds about average, not skinny, but certainly not fat. And she sounds pretty fit and healthy, so she should just ignore anyone who tells her otherwise, unless her weight really bothers her, then she should stay as she is. HTH : )

I don't think so. Naturally, if she's 13 and she gains weight for no reason, that means she's about to have a growth spurt.

It sounds to me like a 5 foot tall girl who is 118 lbs is definitely overweight!! The exercise would be good for her.
