Becuz its drying out your skin, tightening it. It sucks the moisture out of the skin.

Sounds like prickly heat, I started getting it in my late teens once I got a job & only got to sunbathe when on holiday ie when I was super white & pasty .... What I found was I was ok for 2/3 days then after that the itching & prickling was horrendous & if you scratched it really hurt !! It did go away though after a few days out of the sun though. Key thing is when you get it DON'T go back out into the sun, as that will make it much worse, stay in the shade for at least a couple of days until it goes away. Also found it worse in hotter places ie Mauritius & Canary Islands in peak season were much worse than Spain/South of France etc in May/Sep so maybe it's to do with the sun's intensity ... ???
The way I deal with it now is to try & build up a bit of a base by spending very short amounts of time in the sun before hols - sunbeds might help do this but don't over do them, 15mins sounds like a really long time as they are very powerful these days ... perhaps try 3 5minute sessions over 3-5 days rather than 15min blast .... ??
You have my sympathy, it really sucks, especially if like me you are a sun lover & never had these problems as a kid/young person - another thing I also do now is get a good fake tan before going away so the pressure to look instantly bronzed is off. St Tropez still my fave, bit pricey but only buy the tan, don't bother with the exfoliater/moisturiser as cheaper alternatives work just as well & use disposable gloves to avoid orange hands !!!

My skin itches so badly in the sun. I have no lotions or sunscreen on so I knowledge it's not prickly heat. I'll be driving in my car and my right arm that's getting sun exposure just itches and itches. The second its not In the sun it no longer itches

I am 101% sure you have an allergy to sun rays. Usually, skin itches when you are allergic to something. I'd suggest you see a doctor and get it confirmed.

As we get older our bodies change. You may now be sensitive to the sun or possibly a lotion you use before going into the sun could be irritating you. It's best to see a doctor as this could also be an indication of a more serious problem.

you could be heat sensitive and just a few minutes in the sun will cause your skin to itch. might check any medications you take to sometimes they cause a reaction from the sun

Could be that your pores are being blocked by creams etc, this in turn blocks the pores and so you get prickerley heat, if you have little lumps that go once exfoliating then this is it, or maybe an allergic reaction to a cream etc

It's only because sun, wind and water are very drying. You just need some lotion before and after exposure to those above-mentioned things and you'll be perfectly fine.

It could be eczema. Go to the doctors immediately. Use loads of moisturiser and dont scratch it, it'll make it worse
