I need your opinion about this.

My 2yr old niece likes to dance to hiphop music, pretty much knows most of the lyrics to songs like Cassie's "Me & U" DK's "Show Stopper" Yung Joc's "I Know You See It" Sean Paul/Keyshia Cole's "Give It Up to Me" and some other stuff that's not in my head right now. She likes these songs, asks for them, dances to them. She also wants to look "hott" and when she picks out her daycare clothes, she tells her mom "I want to look pretty, pretty hott." Anyway...

When she dances and she wants to look "sexy" she strips down to her Pull-Ups and dances. She doesn't dance nasty or anything, it's just regular old baby dance, only sometimes shaking her hips. She doesn't do it all the time, just sometimes.

Some think it's cute, some funny, but I would like to know your opinions please.

Is this cute, funny, inappropriate or anything else you think it may be and why do you think so?

Thank you for your help.

I have NO idea where she got the stripping down to her Pull-Ups to dance thing. That came out of nowhere. And she mainly watches things on Disney channel and kiddie channels, except she really likes music videos...and maybe her dad (my bro-in-law) watches things and thinks she doesn't pay attention because she dropped the f-bomb twice that I know of. I don't know, honestly.

I think it has more to do with what happens while with her aunt (but not me). It's when she really started getting into music videos and hiphop songs, not that she was forced to watch them, but because my younger (18yo) sis watches them, she does, too. Her parents make sure that she's exposed to children things because she has a 5yo sis that likes watching kiddie shows and they're pretty much twins born three years apart, they're so alike. It's just that the 2yo is behaving this way towards music and the 5yo isn't.

My niece doesn't do this in public places. She's shy and quiet unless she's in school. She only does this in the comfort of her relative's home, all females.

And my niece will never, ever be one of those dirty little music video girls, count on that. She has a loving, stable family to guide her in the right direction. I'm simply asking opinions because I've never seen a 2yo that wanted to look hot and be "sexy"

Thank you all for the opinions, and please keep them coming. I promise not to keep adding details... :)

I think she has been watching inappropriate things on TV. Like MTV. I don't think it's funny. Kids grow up too fast.
Whatever happenned to jumprope, hopscotch and jacks?
Kids spend too much time watching TV and playing video. They should be OUTSIDE using their imagination to entertain themselves.

I think its cute..up until the point where she strips down to her pull ups. Why is she taking her clothes off? Where is she getting that from?

Maybe I am a cynic, but I have seen too many young girls being hurt by "cute" behaviour......Sure it is innocent, she is too young to know any better, but the stripping part has got to come from somewhere.

I bet the mother who had her daughter abducted and killed because she dressed her daughter up to win beauty pageants wonders now if she did the right thing. Sure, it was cute and innocent and the little girl did look like a beauty queen....but it was the cause of her being sexually assaulted and killed. It wasnt her fault, she was encouraged to look hot and sexy....she was too young to know any better.

Paedofiles do not walk around with a sign on their heads, they are everywhere and this cute little sweet thing may just strip in front of the wrong person who in their warped minds will see it as an invitation.

Sexual assault of babies doesnt just happen to other people, and until you can get into the mind of a paedofile, then "cute" behaviour will be "cute" until a child is molested because of it.

I wonder what ‘Madonna’ was doing when she was 2 years old ???

It is great that your niece has such a great feel for ‘entertaining’ and I certainly wouldn’t recommend you try to discourage it.

If anything, I would suggest to her that she looks ‘more hot’ with her clothes ‘on’ than she does with them ‘off’.

You mentioned she is your niece…
I don’t know what her ‘family situation’ is…
I would have thought that the ‘mother’ should be the one doing something about the child’s behaviour.
I would imagine that your niece’s behaviour when she is with you, is only a reflection of what it is at home !!!

I find it real sad that little girls get that sh*t from they're little babies. Such bad, bad, bad influence...

No wonder they turn out like braindead bimbos later and their only goal in life is to be a stripper, music video dancer or model etc.

Pink sang it the best with "stupid girls". Too bad she's one of the stupid girls herself doing the same thing.

It's sad for girls to have no rolemodels and the only thing they look up to are glamour models and watch hip hop music videos.

I sure hope that damn hip hop trend pass soon.

We have been given our 2, woman guinea pigs as 5 week olds (have been with mum in the previous that) on the comparable time we've been given a toddler bunny (comparable age become along with his mum). Now the bunny from day one become tame and friendly. The guinea pigs admittedly did no longer spend as lots time on our laps with the aid of fact of their weeing and pooing (that is all they do, like respiratory). Now at age 6 months, they are nonetheless so fearful of human touch. in the process the day they are interior the backyard then interior the night we convey them interior or into their exterior cage if its heat. Any suggestions of having them to no longer be so scared individuals?
