You are not alone with this. It happens with a number of different conditions. ADD, ADHD, depression and with the treatments for various psychiatric conditions. Talk to your doctor or psychiatrist about this if you fall into one of these classificaitons. Your dosage may need to be adjusted to help with this.

i find it hard to concentrate all the time. this effects everyday simple things like reading my daily paper to cooking dinner heck somethings even managing finances. i have come up with a way to manage: i plan my day before hand, to get things done the day of. i give myself a check list and follow it. i take some time in the morning to space out first and then start my day. maybe with coffee or tea. i also go to the gym to get energy to accomplish the routine of everyday life i just keep busy so that i don't have time to loss concentration. so yes i find it sometimes hard to focus on my everyday life, you are not alone.

This may be a sign that you have either ADD or OCD.
ADD can draw attention to many things at the same time, and your brain does not know which way to go.
OCD makes your brain an overactive thought generator. You think and worry and think and worry, and analyze and think and worry, continuously. It put me in the hospital, but I am better now, with drug treatment and therapy.
I don't know much about ADD, but I do know that you can get help. I was put on an ADD drug called Ritalin, not for ADD, but for lack of energy and motivation. It has extremely increased my ability to concentrate and focus on one thing at a time.
You may want to go see a doctor.
I wish you the best...

Are you on any meds? A lot of them affect you that way. Also, are you daydreaming when things are going on, or do you completely lose the time?
Make sure you are eating properly and getting good nutrition with supplements. That can definitely help with thinking. When you are hungry or your blood sugar is low, your mind tends to concentrate on that.
Activities that exercise your brain help a lot. They sharpen your thot process as well as helping you with your forgetfulness.
If you are completely spacing out that time or going blank then see your doctor. It might be a physical or mental problem.
Good luck!
