I concur with all the suggestions here. My cats have lost their taste for the Wellness however. I used it for a number of years. I started using Natural Balance and my cats seem to like it a lot. I am getting a sample pack from www.healthypetnet.com. The company is in Florida and I used to have their dry food shipped to me in CA on a regular basis. I discontinued that when I found some out here to eliminate high shipping charges. Their canned food is new, it's called Instinctive Choice. The dry food is Life's Abundance. They do not use retail outlets. You can get a sample pack for $2.95 shipping.

I did not find Richard Pitcairn's book helpful in my research on the cat diets. Meat for cats really should not be cooked, as the taurine is destroyed by cooking. I use raw ground turkey and raw ground chicken for my cats' diet, with a supplement powder that includes calcium among other things. My darn cats won't chomp on bones! I feed the raw diet for their evening meal. I have been using this for seven years.

I had one cat who was a kibble addict whom I could not get to eat the raw diet. He has bladder cancer now and I have got him eating the raw meat since he had surgery at the end of May. He does not eat a lot of the raw and I supplement with some of the NB canned which he likes.

The kind you cook yourself from recipes in "Natural Health for Dogs and Cats" Dr's. Pitcairn.

I have had cats get seriously ill ( malnourished fatigued, thin greasy fur and full of fleas) on some common commercial pet foods, and when I started cooking for them, they had miraculous recoveries. I wore out my first copy of this book and have put a few years of use on my current copy.

Don't feed your cat Purina, or any other mainstream commercial pet food (Iams, Science Diet, etc. etc). Totally disgusting ingredients, very poor quality, etc.

I LOVE Natural Balance for my cat, and so does she! I would definitely try that and see what works. Read the ingredients and see for yourself.

i am not sure if you are feeding an older cat or a kitten but for myself working for a vet at one time,i don't recommend feeding any form of wet or canned cat food. It can cause diarrhea, tooth decay and digestion problems. If you have an older cat that can not chew dry food, i suggest boiled skinless chicken breast and rice.

My best friend had a 19 year old housecat who ate nothing but Purina! That's totally against everything the vets told me, but Biggun nearly outlasted her son!

It's spa food. There are no by-products what so ever. It's all human grade food.
