1. Why are the majority of people who think this Latino?

2. Why is it supposedly an act of a bigot to not support an illegal act?

3. I came here with my family from Mexico legally, but unlike some I was raised to assimilate and take pride in my new country, by speaking its language and working to make it better, so why do people think just because of my background I should support open borders?

4. Why do people always bring up "but this country was founded on immigrants..." yeah, that was 200 years ago when we actually needed citizens, now this country is suffering massive wage cuts, tax increases, lower standard of living, more diseases like TB, larger classrooms, and higher crime due to illegal immigration, so your outdated reference is nonsense.

5. Why do people always bring up "This country was originally blahblah's then you stole it?" Look throughout history, most major countries were stolen! Stop li

Another solution to one of our country's problems...
Bring all our troops home from Iraq to guard the border. When they catch an illegal immigrant crossing the border, hand him a canteen, rifle, and some ammo and ship him to Iraq .

Tell him if he wants to come to America then he must serve a tour in the military.

Give him a soldier's pay while he's there and tax him on it.

After his tour, he will be allowed to become a citizen since he defended this country. He will also be registered to be taxed and be a legal patriot.

This option will probably deter illegal immigration and provide a solution for the troops in Iraq and the aliens trying to make a better life for themselves.
If they refuse to serve, ship them to Iraq anyway without the canteen, rifle, or ammo.
Problem solved.

People that think those against illegal immigration are bigots because they can not come up with anything else to defend their position and state the stance against illegal immigration is wrong. It is a fear tactic to get those with an opposing opinion to back away. Let's face it - being called a bigot or racist is today's "scarlet letter". Most would prefer to not be labeled as such. Even hinting at it will cause many to shut up.

I think that people think that because the nationality is the same that one would just blindly support the others of the same nationality. They don't realize that the ones that have come into this country LEGALLY went through the hoops, and paid all that needed to be paid, and did what was required of them, and then there are those that just come into the country acting as if they have the "right" to not have to go through the circus. It puzzles me as well.

Your fourth point brings up a lot of what some have been saying for a while on here against illegal immigration. Having a huge mass of population in one area escalates the transmission of diseases (like TB), causes crime and poverty to rise, and causes the living standards to fall. You are 100 % right on that.

And your last point. . . Each time I hear (or see in this case) that, I shake my head and roll my eyes. Another ploy by those that are for illegal immigration to defend their stance. But facts are facts - criminal behavior is just that - CRIMINAL.

Thank you for your intelligent viewpoint on the issue of illegal immigration. And thank you for making it clear to those on the other side of the fence that not all "latino's" are for the criminal behavior.

I don't mean to sound cliche and I agree with some of your points but your last statement caught my eye. Just because people use the past as a reference does not mean that they are "living in the past". How can we educate if we refuse to acknowledge the TRUTH of how this country actually came to be what it is today.
It's not that ALL people think that ALL people who are against illegal immigration are bigots, it's more so how these anti-illegal immigrants advocates propose themselves to the world and also their actions and words. For example, how many states profit tremendously off of illegal immigrant workers yet the state and government don't want to acknowledge these people as PEOPLE? This is nothing new, so why all of the big fuss all of a sudden? The government is playing mind games and we as the people actually are thinking that we have a decision in all of this. This subject----not the problem---- will die down sooner than later.

1. Because as a Hispanic person, you have to support your culture and not try to belittle your people.

2. Because coming undocumented to this country is not an illegal act. It's what the founding fathers of America did. You have little understanding of the ethics that lie behind "illegal" immigration. Do you think people enjoy leaving all that they hold dear behind to come to a new country? No. But they have to feed their families and there are jobs here.

3. YOU came here to this country legally. YOU don't know about the poverty that ravages some of the poorest cities in Mexico. The founding fathers of America left England to come here. Are you going to question them and ask why THEY didn't stay in this country?

4. This country is founded on immigration. You can't change that. This country is by immigrants and it is for immigrants. It does not belong to a group of people who have a valid social security card.

5. This country belonged to the Native Americans before early settlers massacred them. You can't say this is MY country get out because it's not really yours. You stole this country. We're just reaping the benefits.

They do this as a last resort form of arguing. Really they want illegals to be given access to the United States but it is hard to argue that point since it makes no sense. When they feel desperate and resort to name calling without merit. It is better not to engage these sorts of people in a rational debate because you will never win. It is like saying "I know you are but what am I." Yes these people are right this country was founded by immigrants but those who came here legally or through conquest. If you look at the history of the world different people went to war and took others land because they had Superior technology and might. Is reasonable to say that Roman decent British people don't belong in England as they took it from the Anglo-Saxons. They are just trying to hide the fact that more immigrants of this nature would not make America better off.

Wow, that's like six questions, isn't it?

0) Because most people who are against ANY immigration are bigots.
1) I have no answer for this part. I doubt that your facts are correct.
2) It is not an act of bigotry not to support an illegal act, but see answer to question 0.
3) I have no idea why someone would thing you should support illegal immigration. That smacks of bigotry and stereotyping.
4) This country was not founded on immigrants. This country was founded by a group of people who wanted a tax-free country. They lied about the nation to get the immigrants to come here.
5) This country wasn't anyone's when it was created because it didn't exist before. There were people living on the land who had and have historical claim to the land itself, but not to the country.

Whew. Hope that answers your questions. You might want to think about breaking your questions up next time.

properly, it actually looks that *many* of the main vocal combatants are certainly bigots, while they bypass on television and say issues like, "Our u . s . is popping brown!" "Spanish is spoken extra in many situations in California than English!" (the two costs from Pat Robertson). upload to that the undeniable fact that almost each and all of the protests are against unlawful immigrants from Latin u . s . (while there are over 2 million *white* unlawful immigrants interior the rustic, predicted) and the noise does handle a racist tone. As on your #4 -- massive salary cuts, tax will develop, decrease generally occurring of residing, bigger school rooms, bigger crime. Hmm, properly the crime fee is unquestionably DOWN everywhere in the U. S. over the final 10+ years. something is principally with the aid of Bush's financial rules, and has no longer something to do with unlawful immigrants. Even the predicted 12 million unlawful immigrants are nonetheless in easy terms decrease than 3% of the whole US inhabitants, they simply have not got that super of an consequence on centers, faculties, or taxes. consistent with probability you may prepare your self on the data around a controversy in the previous spouting off on it, hmm? by ability of how, your loved ones's "assimilation" ethic is admirable -- although that isn't the only way. this could be a unfastened u . s ., remember? If immigrants, criminal or no longer, want to hold onto their language, traditions, etc. they are completely unfastened to take action -- that's what u . s . is all approximately. Vive l. a. distinction!

It's because it's the "Latinos" that are mostly coming from the Southern border.
People bring up these points because it IS needed to be brought up.

ROFL, the higher crime rate has very little to do with illegal immigration.

I don't really support "illegal" immigration, either. But I'd rather live here than in Mexico, where you can't even get clean water in most areas.
And, you know, let's not avert our eyes from the fact that it is these immigrants who are doing the things you are too stuck up and lazy to do.
If we stop illegal immigration completey, the US's economy would drop, and our lawns unmowed.

There is no real agreement for anyone supporting ILLEGAL immigrants. Instead of admitting illegal immigrants are criminals, they a lame attempt at insulting those that call them criminal. They drop the word racist as if they think it will stop or offend the law-abiding citizens. Anyone brining up the fact that this country was founded on immigrants to support the criminals are failing to mention this country was founded on legal immigrants. Many liars try to add conviction to their lies by including part of a truth.

You are like my new hero! I live in California and I have been very interested in the border issue. I have grown nearly sick with this open border nonsense and I say good for you for thinking the way you do. My only answers for your questions would be as follows
0.People usually think people that are against illegal immigration are only against it because they are racist against Mexicans.
1.(refer to last answer)
2.They want you to see things their way and if you don't they try to make you seem like a bad person to decrease the value of your views and increase theirs.
3.It almost seems like the Mexican Americans are seeing the open borders as a way of them taking their land back from America.
4.It's about the only ammunition they have, they have no choice but to use it.
5.Good point! If only more people thought like you I would have a little more faith in my fellow Americans.

I am against illegal immigration and am not a bigot. I don't think that folks who are aginst it are bigots either. Nor do i hate the people that are for it. Unfortunately thier are a few ultra rotten apples in the barrel (on both sides) that stink up the bunch. They are what we would consider "extremists." And that mind set - anywhere is not cool.

I wouldn't get too bent outta shape about what people say on here, it seems to be a sound off site for both extreme sides.
