What about a wallpaper with stars on it, would that be good to put on a ceiling?

There are probably decals that you can buy...or maybe check out http://www.DiscoveryChannelStore.com . They have an electronic planetarium for $29.95 that projects the solar system onto the ceiling. You'll probably have better luck if you look for this kind of thing in children's stores. You could just paint your ceiling midnight blue, then stick on the decals or turn on the planetarium.

Well I have a good idea I say on TV but it may be more than you want to get into.

Paint the ceiling black or even a midnight blue. Go up into your attic and drill thin holes down into your ceiling and thread the tips of fiber optic lights through the holes. This way the stars will be lit up. You can do this in a pattern or randomly. I dont think it would be that expensive but I have never bought any fiber optic lights so ??? On tv they had it set up so one of the stars would look like it was shooting across the sky it was SO cool.

Dont go with those cheap stick stars whatever you do. They look like crap. I think they have glow in the dark paint that would look better because you could put little dots of it all over and make them various sizes. The light from your ceiling light or wherever will "charge" the paint and when its lights out it will look cool.

Wall paper is REALLY tough to put on a ceiling. You need lots of people to hold it up to put it on even;y. I did a ceiling with a dark blue paint and then used a sponge to add a medium blue to it. I just dapped the medium blue on sporatically with the sponge. I then added a few white specs to give the appearance of stars. It looked pretty cool. You can buy planets and stars that glow in the dark too.

Start out by painting your ceiling AND about 6 inches down of your wall dark midnight blue. Go to Menards or Home Depot and you can buy a package of glow stick ons of stars, planets, etc. This really looks awesome.

For clouds use a sponge and use like blues, whites, grays, and black, for stars yellow and red, make them very small.
