Antidepressants, not antipsychotics.

I know someone who wanted to attempt suicide when on Lexapro actually, number 8. She was taking Strattera too and the doctor said it made a toxic combination for her in particular, I guess.

It's true-one of my best friends I ever had in my life got put on zoloft about a month ago-she had not had it for over 2 yrs and was fine-but she went nuts at my house the other day! To make a long story short she was better off not on the crap-it really impairs her thought process and we lost a good friendship over it. I do not want somebody that unstable on medication as a friend. Drugs are great, huh?

I've been on Lexapro and I can tell you personally there is no difference. If you are unhappy, you are unhappy. No pill will all of a sudden make things better! I think it actually make me worse. After being depressed for awhile I got on Lexapro and then when I was on that for 2 months I attempted suicide. I would have never done it before but once I was on the pills it made me want to! I hope that helped you a bit!

Personally I have taken both. I took Lexapro for a little over a year and after a while I began to feel numb to all emotions (happy and sad). I didn't feel any repercussion to any of my actions so I definitely did act differently. Did not treat my gf as good, did not feel any emotion towards her or anything. This was only after a long period of time where I believe I should have had my dosage reduced at that point as the current dosage seemed to be proving to strong.

Yes they are supposed to make people free of depression, so they change on a positive way. Some antidepressants like Zoloft have side effects in the sexual desire, and maybe have problems reaching an orgasms. If you add alcohol the things get worst. Have a nice day.

god yes...i was on zoloft a few months ago..i had to get off of that medication at once because it was making me feel dull and suicidal. yes, suicidal. i was never suicidal before taking this medicine. i hate zoloft. i'm taking lexapro now, and i have gained 20 pounds! i hate this medicine too, and i'm thinking about switching to something else...(*sigh*) it seems to me that all anti-depressants have some negative side-effects...

Zoloft makes people feel weird, the other I'm not sure about. All of that anti-dedressant medicine is deathly dangerous, especially if it's took earlier than it prescribed in between doses. Makes a person sleepy and they go off into a coma. I don't recommend any of it for anyone. It's all dangerous.

Sometimes your medication can stop working and you may need a stronger dosage level or a stronger medication.

Yes. But it's not always a bad thing if "acting like themselves" is very depressed or obsessive-compulsive or overy anxious.
