no. assuming you have the average 27day cycle. Your ovulation would occure around the 12th day of your cycle, and sperm only live 4 or so days in your body, so the odds are near to impossible. You can chart your cycle more clearly at http://www.fertilityfriend.com and this will tell you what 3-4 days you are actually fertile throughout your cycle each month. Generally if you miss Ovulation Day, you miss your chance to conceive. The key is knowing when that day is.

its highly highly unlikely. but i wouldn't count on my cycle for birth control. but many do, and some are successful...
it is the "safest" time to do it though. but remember that sperm can live in the body for up to a week, so if you ovulate early i wouldn't do it during your period.

yes, I've even heard of girls who have gotten pregnant while ON their period...

I'm faily sure your period is what tells you that you're NOT pregnant.
