How do u know if a guy on the internet really likes you?

you can only tell when you talk to them for a long time (after a cetain number of days) without them ever seeing a foto of you and acting simply 'kind' to you, not interested, just kind.

that happened to me once and it was with this really really gorgeous guy. it was on one of those rank me web pages. i didnt have my foto on that site, but i wrote a simple email to him sayng hi (the reaosn why i had emailed him was because he had his screen name 'hot italian' and i was just months before leaving to italy) so i emailed him just saying hi and how i was leaving to italy soon and ask him about his background. he wrote me back immediatly saying thanks for the nice comment, that usualy he would get dirty emails from countless chicks. so we started this little one on one email daily for aobut a week. he was really interested in me, but he had not seen a picture of me and thats what made it special, that being a hell of a good attractive guy act the kind way he was acting. i could have been this heavy, dorky, with freckless red headed chick, and it seemed like he didnt care.

it was about a week before valentines when we started chating, and so he decided to meet me on that day. i was surprised he was that open and at the last minute sent him a foto of me. he flipped after seeing my foto and was even more eager to see me on valentines. but it made sense, he was kind enough to not judge me at hte beginning because of my looks, but because of my personality.

we met on st. valentines, and yes, he was like bazooka WOW!! every where we went every chick passed woudl turn around and look, yes, i would get jealous.

sadly :( the month came when i left to italy and it was useless to keep together as i was to stay in tialy for 1 year. this happened 2002, im still here in itay with another guy i love even more, but jst looking back, i take it as a memory.

so my answer is: you can only tell when a guy online likes you when he has never seen a foto of you and acts kindly in every way.

You won't know unless he A) asks to meet you in person or B) sends you a picture of his..."happy place." If A) happens, then take a friend as backup. If B) happens, ignore his IM's, block his e-mails, lock all the doors and windows, and keep pepper mace handy just in case.

ask him and then acept the fact that he very well might be lying to you. you can't tell unless you are actually interacting with him one on one and even THEN he still could be lying to you. trust your gut, but don't be caught up in your emotions.
