Be careful... most of the spinach sold in the US comes from California. I live in NY and a lot of the spinach here comes from over there. Much of it has been contaminated with a bacteria called E. Coli that can make you very sick.

The last I heard, over 110 people got sick from it and definetely 1 death. It was not just a "few" as one of the previous people answered. Frozen Spinach might be okay.... but don't take the chance.

Some spinach is ok, apparently only the stuff from CA has been determined to have e coli. Also make sure no matter where it is from that you cook it thoroughly. No spinach in salad.

You can eat canned spinach but they want us to avoid fresh spinach until they can figure out where the contamination came from in the process of manufacture.

Because of e-coli; two people died, and over 100 people were infected. You can still eat spinach, just not the bagged stuff.

Because of an outbreak of the bacteria "E Coli" which can be deadly if not treated. They traced the source back to spinach.

It's a bunch of bull!! A very FEW people got sick because of some dirty spinach, and the blockheads in the US overreacted and destroyed the whole crop.

If you can find it, eat it.....The chance of your getting sick or dying from it is less than your chance of being struck by lightning.

You can - boil the heck out of it first.

Raw spinach can pass along a potentially DEADLY disease. I don't think I've heard that they have found the source of contamination.

100's of people in many states have gotten sick - some have died. So, for now, for me, NO SPINACH please!
