Two-Tone Sandwiches

INGREDIENTS:
2 slices of bread (one white and the other whole wheat, roughly the same size)
Cookie cutters, 1 large and 1 small (ours measure 3 1/4 inches for the hand and 1 1/2 inches for the heart)
1. Set the 2 slices of bread on a cutting board. Cut out the centers of each with a large and a small cookie cutter.

2. Swap the center cutouts, so the wheat bread has a white bread design and the white has the wheat, then assemble your sandwich.

Caramel Cones

INGREDIENTS:
2 cups brown sugar
1/3 cup butter
1/3 cup corn syrup
1 can sweetened condensed milk
2 cups marshmallows
60 mini ice cream cones
5 empty egg cartons
1. Turn the egg cartons upside down. Punch holes in the bottom of each egg cup. Gently insert one mini cone into each hole.

2. In a large microwave-safe bowl, combine the brown sugar, butter, corn syrup and sweetened condensed milk. Microwave on high for 2 minutes.

3. Take the bowl out of the microwave. Stir. Microwave for 2 more minutes. Add 2 cups of mini marshmallows.

4. Microwave on high for 2 minutes. Stir. If necessary, repeat to thoroughly melt the marshmallows.

5. When the mixture is thoroughly smooth, fill the cones. Place carton in the freezer and keep them there until they are completely frozen.

6. Allow the cones to sit at room temperature for five minutes before serving.

You might check with Fresh Food catering on Fountainview if you live in Houston, TX. There is a Margaritaville website that had all sorts of theme party ideas They make every kind of cookie cutter imaginable. Just make little sandwiched and cut them in different shapes. There's always Martha Stewarts website, FoodTV and HGTV. Good luck.

Here is a recipe for Fairy Cake, but there are several on the internet... http://www.fairygardens.com/colorbook/cakefairy.html

This is a link to Fairy recipes... Fairy Cakes, cookies, bread, pudding and Fairy Delight: http://www.cooks.com/rec/search/0,1-0,fairy_food,FF.html

Other than that, I think I'd go with a fruit tray... a veggie tray (Fairies eat healthy!) and maybe some Fairy wraps - lol

Gee...what DO faries (or, faeries) eat!?

I'd be sure to have dainty little crustless sandwiches and, that staple of Fairy cuisine, the Hostess Twinkie.

I'd also spend some time carving radish roses and carrot curls (any good cookbook can explain how to do this), that sort of thing, to make an edible garden.

Good luck!

Fairy cookies--butter cookie recipe and the cookie cutter links are below

Besides cookies, you can make sandwiches out of the cookie cutters.

You could also make a gingerbread house or a bunch of small ones and have the kids decorate them with gumdrops and other candies.

how about making plain white cupcakes and offer two or three colors of frosting and some colored sugar and let them decorate their own cupcakes. also make a lemon/lime or any other clear punch. put ice cubes made from different flavor kool aid. as the ice cubes melt it will create a pretty rainbow effect in the punch.
