I will like the opportunity for any athiest to show me that the Bible is not truth. I am willing and have an open mind to read/and or study any literature.

i am an athiest, but i distrust your "open minded"ness.
but in all seriousness, there are hundreds of self contridictions in the Bible (and yes i have read most of it), and since the Bible is the only literature that you will (might) accutually listen to, well then...
any way, if you haven't already read it, read it first then see the movie if you haven't already, there is Angles and Demons, which is the prequil to the Da Vinci Code. which is Dan Brown's view of the bible.
and anyway i am not trying to convert you or whatever, because i know (as i am sure that you do also) that this is a free country (USA) and in such we have the fredom to practice whatever religion, or to not practice.

New Testament: The 4 gospels were chosen because they represented the most popular interpretation of Jesus' message. Other interpretations (e.g. gnostic) were dismissed and then treated as heresy. Paul (Saul of Tarsus) never met Jesus yet because of his charisma, his letters on matters of theology to the early christian communities were incorporated into it. Check out the other writings that weren't included (e.g. Gnostic gospel of St Thomas is believed to be older than the Mark gospel). Also check out the research on what scholars think Jesus did and didn't say.
Old Testament: If you look at the OT, it's clearly a vengeful deity that supports the thought system and desires of whatever the jewish tribes wanted him to. In Leviticus, we have God commanding people not to shave their sideburns (!). Elsewhere, we get God on the side of the jews and supporting the killing of their enemies (sound familiar to the koran?).
This very brief overview doesn't even get into 1% of the details. The details are out there. Enjoy.

Just read it with a critical mind... if you are truly open-minded you will start to doubt it within 2 pages at the very most. Just remember... in the creation account the light was created before anything that could produce it... that's strike 1. I could give you more but I'd be here all night.

The fact is, the bible was written by people, many people, at many different times. As well, the bible was altered and revised many times by many people. The OT is not considered the holy bible anymore, but instead the NT. There are many contradictions in it, and as time has passed by, many people more and more do not follow the bible with any dedication.

The burden of proof is not placed on the reader, it is placed on the writer. There is a giant invisible flaming space penguin that created the universe. Can't disprove it? Then it must be true!

Aratyme : are you serious? The verse means that it STAYED DAYLIGHT, the day did not end, it did not get dark until they had defeated their enemies. Of course the sun doesnt move, the esrth REVOLVES AROUND the sun, so the sun STAYED STILL IN THE SKY, DID NOT MOVE, DID NOT SET, DID NOT GO DOWN.

the bible is so full of holes its unreal. read the gospels and wot they say regarding jesus they all contradict themselves. use ur brain im sure ur an intelligent person. the bible has been translated so many times by men its unrecognisable.

You wouldn't accept any proof anyway ....be honest with yourself....try to be honest with yourself.....you are slowly, slowly ...being honest...
If they invented a time-machine and went back to the time of Jesus...and it turned out he was just a guy ......you christians would say that God changed history to test your faith. Faced with that kind of denial, it's obvious that you yourself have to make that 'leap' from wishfull thinking to reality. Hey, try it...you can always go back.
If you're one of these people that think,"If there is no God, then there is no retribution, therefore I can go out and steal and kill and such!", please, please disregard anything that I said before, you're hopeless.

I'm not atheist but there is simply no proof of a divine force. Not only don't atheists believe in God but it is also all other religions. Do you have proof that all other religious books are not true, no you don't.
