I have tried hot water and fleecy 50/50. It worked on the upper 3/4 of one strip. I tried an iron with the steam, nothing. It is a plaster wall, if that makes a difference. Help!

You can buy or rent a wallpaper steamer from a rent all store. It removes the wallpaper from plaster walls as well.We used this method as well as the fabric softener and hot water.I believe we used a no name brand fabric sotener (score the wallpaper first so the solution gets under the paper).A lot of elbow grease may be involved as well. We removed the wallpaper (so many layers it was like an onion) and swore we would never ever use wallpaper in our lifetime.

a a million gallon backyard sprayer and some DIF. you will get it at any abode progression shop. i take advantage of a 4" scraper (razor blade) blend the DIF with warm water, pump the sprayer, spray it on the wall, wait a couple of minutes spray it again and it commonly comes perfect off with little attempt. If the wallpaper has a vinyl coating or paint on it you should get what's called a paper tiger, it really is scratches the wallpaper and helps the dif to penetrate extra ideal. you could also use a application knife if you're careful. supply the DIF a at the same time as to paintings and make certain you're not to any extent further getting the pre-blended stuff. A gallon expenses about $15. i have done this many circumstances to my properties and it somewhat works large the only genuine problem you run into is the possiblity of the plaster being loose yet it really is an finished new set of issues in itself.

You can buy a bottle of wallpaper stripper liquid, just mix it with warm water and spray it on. Alternatively you can buy a wallpaper steamer for about thirty pounds from DIYstore but do not hold the steam plate on the wall for too long or the plaster will blow.

Yes.. it makes a big difference.... Back in the older days.. they put the wall paper on there to stay and maybe the ONLY way you can do it is to use water as you have.. take off what you can and then wet the rest and use a sander to try to sand it off.

What are you going to do with the wall? Are you going to paper over it again? If so.. I always recommend that people paper over the existing wallpaper ONLY IF>>>> ONLY IF the wallpaper there is stuck on and will never come off.

I recently saw on this used on the program "Sell this house!".
They scored the wallpaper and then sprayed it with a liquid laundry softner and water mixture. It appeared to work brilliantly and since you have nothing to lose try it. Should that fail then you haven't any choice but to paint over the wallpaper. A textured technique works well.

The cheapest fabric softener you can find, mixed with very hot water. Score the wall first with a round tool made for such. Then slop on the softener solution, let soak a few minutes and voila! Down comes the paper...
Cheap & easy.
