The Science Channel's lineup tonight (America) includes reruns of "The Rise of Man" parts 1 & 2, from 9-11 p.m. Eastern Time.

It's a fascinating documentary about the evolution of humankind.

One synopsis notes that it "covers the development of the human species from Homo Erectus, the first species to demonstrate signs of humanization, to Homo Sapien. It follows the path of our direct ancestors as they migrate across the planet. Because of it, created and technological and social-structure advances, the Homo Sapien version of the species was able to thrive."

If I recall correctly, "Rise of Man" is the documentary which also credibly suggests how very early man began considering the idea of gods.

Who plans on watching it?

It will be repeated at midnight and a few more times. See http://science.discovery.com/tvlistings/series.jsp?series=117476&gid=0&channel=SCI for more information.

stronzo5785: I enjoy docufiction, too, especially the kind represented by "The Rise of Man", which of course is based on scientific fact. It's really interesting to see your ancestors depicted as they actually were, many, many thousands of years ago. And since you enjoy this kind of thing too, I assume that means you intend to watch it. Great! All creationists should open their minds to truth once in awhile.

"Preacher": You're right, creationism is a false doctrine, but you misspelled it "evolution".

It's so sad that most Christians - when given the choice of believing a book written by mere men or embracing "God's own truth" there in front of their eyes - will reject all the "divine" qualities of physics, science, natural laws, etc., in favor of a book of legends.

I mean, regardless of the evidence in front of them, Christians will accept "God" only if "God" conforms to their ideology, which of course "he" doesn't, in matters of science and discovery.

In other words, Christians love their bible more than they love "God".

And nothing brings that home like the subject of evolution.

perfect, and ALL non secular anybody is ignorant human beings. See i will apply gross generalizations too :) ok, and when I study the tale. To me it would not sound like indoctrination. It sounds extra like they are coaching them about different religions and the motto they are regurgitating isn't "i'm perfect and all different anybody is incorrect" yet "it really is sturdy to imagine for your self" i'm somewhat disturbed through the sequence plate and the e book of songs, although. Very disturbed.

Man has fallen from his peek at the beginning of time. He can only rise again through Jesus Christ. Evolution is a false doctrine.
