Did it change you for good, or did you return to your belief system?

I'm not talking about your conversion itself, but another event -- a death, a relationship, a birth...

All the time. And I never change back. My faith is a work in progress, and my life is grist for the mill. If my faith didn't grow with my experience, it would be a meaningless, hearsay faith.

When I was 11, I just gave up Christianity because I was so fed up with the contradictions and hipocrisy. I have since choosen Buddhism as my religion and am much more happy. The event that probably was the last straw for me was when a muslim kid in my school was insulted and made fun of by the 'Christians".

Yes, an event started my questioning of Christianity. Became agnostic which lasted more than 30 years until I found Judaism. No miracles required -- just good common sense.

many many things have made me question what I believe in. Im not here to bash any "believers" but I never totally believed that sorta spirtual stuff. Im a scientist, and I deal with facts. My way of life is all based ON FACTS. Simply having faith never solved anything. Any scientist would tell you (or any normal human beeing) that things just don't solve themselves. Its withing ourselves that things get done.

Alot of experiences in my life have changed me for the worst. Never believing in a false entity did improove my morality though.

Since I have become a believer in the bible as God's true word, and what I would call born again? No. That is not to say that I don't ask why this or that sometimes, I do. But the rock of His word is firmly under my feet.

Yes, I did experience an event in my life that challenged my faith, and I left it for awhile. I'm a Christian, and God stayed faithful to me, even when events in my life made me question Him. I got angry, cursed Him...He left me alone for awhile, but I can now see where He was there the whole time, even when I was rebelling against Him.

God is loving, forgiving...above and beyond that which I'm capable.

Yes I have been through several painful episodes and I still have them. It is always a struggle to know what they mean, but I have not changed my beliefs. Usually my faith helps me navigate through them, even if it seems a little blind at some points. Hindsight helps.

The end of a 35 year marriage from adultry by my ex has left me with no trust card in my deck. I've always been strong, but doubt I'll ever trust again.
