Your lives are just beginning and you should enjoy just taking the time to get know one another. Don't worry about the big question, it will happen when it happens.
You should also be living your life for yourself too. As much as you love your boyfriend, you need to be able to take care of yourself. God forbid something doesn't go as planned; you have a way to protect yourself.
Life has a way of throwing a few nasty curve balls at you when you least expect it. For right now, just relax and enjoy the time that you two share together, and when the time is right he will ask you to marry him.

If you knew the exact time, it wouldn't be a surprise. Unless you've been together for years and nothing seems to be happening, try to think of the spending-your-lives-together as being right now. He could be hunting for the right ring or the right moment.

No no no...you should embrace surprise! Not knowing is sometimes better than knowing. And life doesn't necessarily start after marriage. Your life together started the day you met. Just be patient. You will appreciate his proposal more if you aren't expecting it.
