The Arnold family goes back to the days of the American Revolution. This book has information concerning an ancestor of mine Captain Lewis Saxon who was in the American Revolution War. I am applying for membership in the National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR). I am specifically seeking information regarding John Pierce Saxon born 14 Dec 1810 son of Charles Allen Saxon born 07 Feb 1790 and Judith Pierce born 09 Jun 1792. Charles Allen Saxon was the son of Lewis Saxon. I understand that Mary Polly Saxon (daughter of Lewis Saxon and his wife Sarah Bacon Allen) was married to an Ira Arnold and that must be where the Arnolds come in. I would like to find out where to obtain the book "The Arnold Family" by W.H. Arnold of Texarkana, Ark. published by west Co., 1935. I will appreciate any help. Thanks Carol

have Mary Saxon with spouse Ira Arnold. You could e-mail them to ask what they used for sources.

The book you want is listed at $33.50 on

The Library of Congress has a copy.

http://catalog.loc.gov/cgi-bin/Pwebrecon.cgi?v1=2&ti=1,2&Search%5FArg=arnold%20family&Search%5FCode=TALL&CNT=25&PID=19167&SEQ=20060924175213&SID=1

It is likely that if you check with your public library or a nearby university library that they will also have a copy.

If not they may be able to borrow a copy for you on inter-library loan

Otherwise you will need to check with secondhand booksellers in your local yellow pages or online

You may also like to check genealogy sites devoted to the Arnold family name

For example http://www.arnoldworld.com/

The library and exlibris are good places to start.
Don't all published books that claim copyright have to send copies to the Library of Congress?
