Border Collies are a tough breed, I have one and he is 10. The only information that I can provide you with, is that they are extremely extremely smart, they are bred to herd sheep and be with their "shepard" and that is their job, that is what they do. So if you can buy some books and read somemore about the breed, speak to breeders of the breed and other owners of the breed or seek out a reputable dog trainer-please keep in mind that this is really a special breed and they prefer not to be left alone for long periods of time. I have provided a couple of websites with information on the breed and information that may help you both. Good Luck to you and your new companion.

Time I am afraid. She sees you as her hero right now because you rescued her. As she gets older her confidence should build up, but collies do tend to be extra loyal to their owners.
