That one of his employees misdirected me when I called to let them know I was interested in working for them? Let me explain.

It's a cafe or pub. They had these fliers up at my college instructing people to just call and leave a message if they're interested. I called one day last week and a girl answered and I don't think she took my message at all. She told me I had to go to "the realty building across the street" and someone would be in there to talk to about it. Yeah, dumb but I was polite and didn't call her on it. By the way, there is a CVS building across the street from them, not a realty building.

Should I tell the owner someone is deliberately misdirecting potential employees?

Hey, it's a waitressing job, but a nice way to meet folks and earn money....

I wasn't even thinking it possible to get a job there now, if people act that way (she knew who I was.) So I guess it was not vengefulness, but just plain sick of people doing stuff like that, fueling my question.

Sure, I should just go in and not say anything about it. Maybe smile at the girl if she's still there.

If you want a ob there, I wouldn't say anything to the owner, might make you look like a trouble maker right off. I would just go up there and speak to the owner or manager about the job. It may be that the girl who is misdirecting callers fears for her job or that whe will not be able to work as many shifts as before, so she is trying to protect her job.

I would go and apply with the owner, then at some point, ask him what the deal is with going to the realty building across the street, "by the way, where is that? All I see is the CVS." He will no doubt look puzzled. Then tell him that those were the instructions you were given when you called about the job. Tell him the day and time you called so he can more easily identify who is sabotaging his hunt for new employees.

if it were me, i'd go in and talk to the owner...and while im at it, just casually mention that i was confused because when i called in earlier, the girl i spoke with told me to go to the building across the street. (or something else equally subtle...maybe ask if he happens to also work across the street)

and leave it at that. on one hand you dont want to be perceived as a tattle-tale...but on the other, you would show that you are a moral employee by letting the owner know that the other employee is misdirecting potential applicants.

Simply go in person and talk to the owner. Some girls can be so mean sometimes. I'm trying to give her the benefit of the doubt here.....

go there for lunch when she's working. wait for her to enter the restroom. go in behind her. wait for her to leave the restroom. walk out behind her and yell out loud that " SHE DIDN'T WASH HER HANDS AND HER POOY STINKS" . OR you could tell the owner in private what you didn't see her do (wash hands)

yup. sounds like she is the one being dismissed, or wants one of her friends working there.
