I think of it like an instinct. As an unstudied assumption that there is within me, and/or beyond me, creative forces with an almost infinite capacity to resolve problems.

There may be no ultimate guarantees of "good outcomes" but from what I've seen in my lifetime, hope has a solid foundation in reality.

no matter how rough the situation, no matter how much is lost, there is always a way out- and even when all hope for a way out seems lost- you know that because of the hardship or trial, you have learned something, grown and gained understanding. When you know that nothing that happens is for nothing, nothing is in vain and this trial too shall pass.

believing that life is going to be better tomorrow,
even do you live in small country,
called Serbia, and whole world think you are a terrorist,
without a reason,
hope is something that keeps you going
after fall
hope is to continue with your life even
if you are forced to move from your house,
if the war is around you,
if you don`t have a job,
if someone is trying to take away something
from your country, while you know that it belongs
to your people throughout centuries...

Mr. Duchovny,

Hope is a longing for something. It can be joined with feelings; melancholy, depression, elation, gladness, foreboding, sadness; all mixing into a swill of desire. To me, hope is a minor chord. Because the musical minor chord expresses the sound of the feeling. It waits for something to complete it.

So hope can be a minor chord, or with elation it can be a minor seventh, I suppose.
