cervicle lymph nodes (glands)
if swoolen they are working hard to protect the immunity, if it persists look for other symptoms of infection, there's lots of crap in the air that could cause this so think about the signs pain is usually a direct indicator but think about what may have been or is in the air such as pollens spores pollution etc.

Well you do have lymph nodes under your neck. Sometimes they become inflammed due to an infection, have you checked his temp? I would also look in his throat, sometimes kids can have strep throat without any real symptoms. You want to look for white spots on his tonsils. I would call my physician, you never want to risk it with a childs health.

The doctor's the authority on the subject, yes. Send your son in for check-up regardless of the absence of complaint.

If the kid is fine, he probably is. If he starts to act like he is sick, you can take him to the Dr. Sounds just like swollen lymph glands, may be fine in the morning.

Anything that makes a lump, ESPECIALLY one that doesn't hurt, needs to be seen by a doctor as soon as possible.
