Melanomas are usually bigger than that, but if it is itchy, you should get it checked out anyhow. If it's nothing, good. If it is something, you may as well get it taken care of while it's still small...

Go to the Dr. right away. It may not be anything (hopefully) but it could be. You do not want to watch any mole grow, especially if it's itching. Think of it this way. If the mole gets to be the size of a pencil eraser & turns out to be melanoma, it is already fairly advanced, almost too much so. My ex-husband had one the size of a pin-prick on the top of his ear. The Dr. had to remove almost 1/2 of his ear in order to make sure it was all gone. Moles, especially if they itch, bleed or otherwise do things that moles are not supposed to do, then always go see the Dr. Far "better to be safe than sorry".

You should see a dermatologist yearly if you are fair and have moles. I wouldn't necessarily be concerned about this mole since it is so small, but skin conditions can't be assessed without being seen. It is normal for moles to itch from time to time, but again, you should visit the dermatologist.
