For me, it was mostly losing interest in things I loved, being miserable a lot, wanting to die, not wanting to do anything, wanting to sleep all the time... stuff like that. Fortunately, I found a way out of that miserable rut:

Feeling teary, or even crying, for small things. General sadness. Wanting to lie around a lot. Feeling tired. Showing indifference to some things one cared about before the depression. Losing touch with friends and family. Going days without laughing at anything. Sometimes, in more severe cases, wishing you were dead, or even thinking of ending your life.

signs are loss of interest in life in general. thoughts of suicide, not wanting to be around other people, for me a general bad mood all the time.... alot of times angry for no reason.

it's the highest form of depression, to the point where they are sucidal, and need to tell their doctor RIGHT NOW.
