Used to stress me too. It stems from fear of failure. You have to learn to get used to failure as you learn how to be successful. Confronting your fears is the only way to get past them. Just go out and meet people. At first, you will fumble for words and be self conscious, but you will meet friendly people who will realize this and be patient with you. Build your self esteem. Take stock of what you have, what you are etc. Remind yourself every day what a neat person you are and how lucky someone would be to really get to know you. Stuff like that. Just do it. Report back to me in a couple of weeks to let me know how you did.

I think shyness is caused because one is self conscious about how others view them. I was once shy. In Grade K. I didn't speek a word the entire year in school. When I got to the end of highschool I learned that everyone can make mistakes. Once you make them no one will laugh or criticize you. If you are not shy you will have more friends more relationships and you can express yourself. Once you overcome the obstical of being shy, it will pay off big time. Trust me I know.
To do it start easy... you might tell someone you dont know nice shirt. It always works for women. They will become your best friend.
Then start making comments when talking in groups...
this might be the hardest of it all but once you get the groove on, you take control and you feel powerful. Keep making comments one after the other. DON't just stop at one comment. THE MOST IMPORTANT PART OF NOT BEING SHY!!! IS TAKING CONTROL. If i can do it.... you can too.

There is no absolute cure for shyness because it is not a disease per se, but psychological and emotional state of ones mind. Building your self esteem, personal confidence and professional profile are very important as well.
Always work a bit ahead of time and events to prepare you for the right approach to situations. As long as you prepare yourself for the right answer to questions, the right question to ask the right person at the right time on the right subject, you are in control. Be brave and go for it.

I'm shy too and I dont mind it at all. Dont let it stress you out, just be yourself. Shyness is not a problem, it's a matter of knowing how to use it. It has its advantages too and you can be very successful with it. Just don't try to be someone you are not.

dear shy,
Sometimes double dating with a good friend could help. This friend could critique your actions. When making a date if you use a line such, I have a problem; your in my thoughts day and nite. There has never been a person as meaningful and beautiful in my life. Then ask her to go on a date;wait for her response, if she agrees, most of your problems should be over. While traveling to your destination, state you've always been shy. However, your beauty, personality and demeanor have spurned me to new heights.

In my opinion - Its ur nature , just let it be that way . I like shy people more than the "hypocrites" who act as if they arent shy ... If need arises , you can be consciously outspoken .
But dont try to feign emotions , its gonna cause troubles .
Shyness is a certain type of Self-prevention mechanism that helps u to avoid unwanted circumstances or situations...
Its not bad ... Just dont let it rule you ....and enjoy Shyness :>
"Many great people are shy , so why dont you ? !"
Good Luck

Make it your goal to walk up to a least one person every day and scream in their face.
Then stay and watch their reaction.
