I purchased a container of fried chicken from our local deli today. I am expecting a guest who's on the road, and I don't know how long I will need to keep the chicken warm. I would like to put it in the oven, and I wonder if you know the right temperature, so that the chicken will not cook further, but will not go bad. Does anyone know?

If you leave it in the oven for a while (hours) it will be dried out.If you want to keep it warm put the oven on 200 for no longer than an hour.Or use the microwave.

No, don't keep it in the oven because you don't want your chicken to dry out. The best way to keep chicken fresh is to simply wrap it in foil, making sure it's tightly wrapped. You can keep the wrapped chicken in the fridge until about 30 minutes or so right before your guest arrive. In those last 30 minutes you may then place e the chicken in the oven, so it can be warm, crispy and fresh by the time your guest arrive.

@beanie Ummm, Seriously? You've never heard of Banquet (brand) fried chicken in the box? The instructions recommend that you cook the chicken in the oven. It comes frozen and is pre-cooked...from the frozen food isle...doesn't ring a bell? How do you think most grocery store delis cook their fried chicken? Answer: in ovens.

Put it in a crock pot on warm because if you keep it in the oven it will dry out. Chicken dries out easily.
