If a man were to surprise me asking for my hand in marrige, I'd definately want that moment to be somewhere quiet and romantic. Maybe at a beach near sunset or a fancy,romantic resturant...

Stick the ring in some small but cute bunch of flower if she fine the ring ask her if she didn't wait until she fined the ring.
Wear the dummy clothing - after be accepted - change the cloth and go for candle dinner.
