Yes, I believe religions are merely perceptions of the Truth presented. They are man's perceptions of the things presented. As for truth being relative, I believe a lot of it is. Some of it are things which we all agree on as truth. 1 + 1 = 2.

Fromm apart from notes that "distinctive cultures have emphasised fairly some factors of the certainty" and that increasing interaction between cultures enables those factors to reconcile and combine, increasing added the approximation to the certainty. whether Erich might disagree, there is an somewhat absolute actuality or certainty, which exists independently of our perceptions, evaluations, or "ideals", and his "ever increasing approximation" is the form in direction of that absolute actuality...

Einstein was talking about SCIENCE, not ethics or theology. In fact he said, "God does not play dice with the universe". Would that sound like an atheist to you? Not to me.
