If you don't know what a safe place sign in it's one of those things that basically say it's safe for all homosexual, bi sexual, w/e in there room. Personally I don't believe there necessary because I feel like anyone whatever sexual preference they are should be ok in a room with or w/ out a sign. I just think there not needed.

So this girl puts a sign on her door with a cross saying that homosexuals are wrong and going to hell and sinning against god, and if they come in her room she will pray for them.

This makes me so mad because I see homophobes equal 2 racist. I can't stand people who need to barge into others lives. If she feels that way fine she can live and be hetro but she isn’t right on trying to tell others how to live there lives.

I am going to start the sign on my door saying:
because we are all putting are personal opinions on are doors

what can i write or what sign can I put up 2 express how upset I am about this issue...

heres what i came up with

contradiction?

You notice when people keep their thoughts to their selves there’s silence and peace but once people start trying to make statements about what they believe is right there is always someone that disagrees or rebels. I guess the only true answer to this is to either have a great big gay world, a great big straight world...or even better...a world where they can all just get along together.

Its are right to say how we feel
We are also living together in a community
And when we express these issues
Feelings are hurt and assumptions are made
Let’s drop the signs
And speak of are feelings
Instead of labeling are doors

If you don't think people should put their oppinions on their doors, why are you putting your oppinion on yours?

Take a peice of paper and draw on it a door with a sign on it then draw a big circle slash (like a non smoking sign) over the drawn door. Then if the paper is big enough or on another paper write "Lets stop the hurting, DOWN WITH SIGNS"
It will be funny but also get your point across that being hurtful to others is not right.

The homosexual sign (in this case) appears to be just "advertising" and might possibly even being used to "tweak" other people who don't agree. Why does she feel that she needs to make that statement in a hallway anyway?

Hey....the lesbian has her rights.....the other girl has her rights.....It's ONLY a sign.......live and let live and pay the signs NO attention. There are lots of other things in this world to get upset about. No ones getting hurt here.

Are you on speaking terms with this person? If so, engage them in conversation and ask them what the sign means to them. If she trots out the old line about disaproving of "sinners" mention to her that Jesus preached "Judge not, lest ye be judged." He also said "Let he who is without sin cast the first stone." He also mentioned that all sins are EQUAL in the eyes of god. In other words, stealing a penny is as big a sin in God's eyes as murder. You can look up some great laws that God laid out in Leviticus. Chapter 15, v16 would be good to read to her. I can't find them at the moment, but there are other great laws in there as well - such as "A woman's hair shall be her crowning glory and she shall not cut it."

I say you have a loooong, boring floor meeting in your future! Man, nobody put signs like that up around my dorm. Weird. I guess you could have one that says Love =/= (man + woman signs), Love == (heart sign+ heart sign) Or sex== /o +/o or /o +V or V+V or...well, it's college. I guess there are a number of combinations you could put on the sign.

Damn, I don't know. Wish I were more clever about these things, but I've never really thought about door signs of this ilk.

That's sad, why don't you put a sign on the door that says, "you're safe to be in here... as long as you are fasion forward" When people ask you what you mean then just tell them your feelings.

get together about 50 people (girls and guys, if they are allowed). only 1 is straight and her 'friend' (notice the ' ' ). when she lets the straight 'friend' in , EVERYONE else follows.
what's she going to do with 49 gay people in her room? freak out and leave school? aaaaww, how sad. she had to leave school because she can't deal with gay people.

Why are you upset? The girl has a right to her opinion. You condemn her for barging into others' lives yet you want to do the same. Put your welcome sign up if it pleases you.

Wow... signs on the doors have certainly changed since I was in the dorms.

I'd probably put something up like "If I say "come in," you are welcome here. Otherwise please leave a message after the beep and I'll get back to you as soon as possible."
