The pope goes on a "mission of peace" to Northern Ireland among the catholics and the protestants.
He gets a hole in his shoe and finds two shoe repair shops side by side, one owned by a catholic, one by a protestant. To build goodwill, he goes into the protestant's shop. He tries to pay the shop owner, but the man refuses.
Next day, after the pope is long gone, the protestant puts up a sign in his window:
"Cobblers to the Pope!"
The catholic shoe repairman sees it and puts up a sign in his window:
"Bollocks to the Archbishop of Canterbury!"
