A good start would be getting involved in doing things for others in need. It makes life purposeful, rewarding, takes the focus off ourselves, and often shows us how fortunate we really are.

I don't really know how to prevent it, but when I was a teenager, my dad verbally abused me so I was depressed until my parents divorced and I didn't have to see him anymore. All you can do is just make sure that people are happy, don't have an overload of stress and that they are eating healthy and just generally have a happy life. Also, I think that a pet is a good thing to have whether it be a dog, cat, bird, fish, ferret, or guiney pig, just if they don't have people to talk to at least they have something to talk to! =)

unfortunately there is no prevention that i am aware of, if you start to feel depressed speak to someone about it, maybe they can refer you to a therapist, or someone with a good ear can do wonders for you, If you have a problem never keep it inside it will only make the problem 100 times worse, there is nothing so bad that we all havent heard trust me nobodys perfect, there are alot of meds that can help if you feel depressed, hope this helps!!!!!!!

You have to be good at knowing how to deal with and overcome stress in your daily life and how to see things in perspective.
You need to have people that you can speak freely with about things that stress you, and feel free to do so often and thoroughly...that really helps, getting it out.
It also helps to have some leisure activities that you love to do as an outlet.
Another thing that helps is to give yourself little 'goals' to look forward to, like plan trips or vacations so that you always have something to look forward to as a 'release' from the mundane.
Oh, and eat right and exercise. Get involved with groups that involve other people. Stay connected.

you cant really prevent it, but if you have friends, high self esteem, asking for help, you probably have a low chance of getting depression and problems like that.

go to church. Open your eyes and realize that someone has it worse than you. Be thankful for what you do have. Don't let others affect your mood, you control your feelings and how you handle a situation. Be optimistic. Don't make goals and dream so unrealistically.....I know being a femal that one is really hard! Good luck. ....o and pray!
