Earth will be destroyed and he will make a new heaven and a new earth. The meek inherit it because it's God's gift to them. There are many rooms in God's Mansion.

the earth will be destroyed only this time by fire.

2Pe 3:10 But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.

But there is this too

Rev 21:1 And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea.

Yes, in your Bible as well as mine; it says "the meek shall inherit the earth" in Psalms 37:9,11; 115:16; Isaiah 2:2-4; 11:1-10; 62:7; Daniel 7:27; Matt.5:5; Rev.5:10.

Now to answer your question further: most people don't know there are two kingdoms: the 1st kingdom is on earth as I quoted above. We will be reigning with Christ(Rev.20:5) a thousand years here on earth. After the 1,000 years (Isaiah 24:1,6,19,22,23; Jer.4:23-27; 12:10-16); the earth will be destroyed; but not entirely as people think; "it says he will not make a full end" as it says in Jer.4:27. We will build up the wastes and repair the waste cities (Isaiah 61:4). This is where the new earth takes place(Isaiah 65:17; 66:22; Matt.5:3,10; Rev.3:12; 21:1-3); when the New Jerusalem(2nd kingdom) will come down from heaven to earth.

So as you see we will always be here on the earth.
SO HERE'S WHAT WE'RE GOING TO DO---
ISAIAH 66:21; ZECH.14:9-11 = "BUILD HOUSES, PLANT VINEYARDS, EAT VINEYARDS"
ISAIAH 66:23; ZECH.14:16-19 = "WORSHIP FROM ONE NEW MOON TO ANOTHER AS ONE SABBATH TO ANOTHER"
JESUS WILL BE GIVING CITIES TO THE SAINTS INWHICH THEY WILL BE TEACHING OTHERS THE TRUE MESSAGE OF THE BIBLE = MATT.25:14-23; EZEKIEL 36:10,33; LUKE 13:26; ISAIAH 61:4
WE WON'T MARRY OR BE GIVEN UNTO MARRIAGE = MATT.22:30
BOYS AND GIRLS WILL BE PLAYING IN THE STREETS = ZECHARIAH 8:4-5,8
MEEK SHALL INHERIT THE EARTH = PSALM 37:9-11; MATT.5:5; REV.5:10

2 Peter 3:10-13, "But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up. Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness, Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat? Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness."

It seems that God is going to remake creation as he see fits and we will be heirs to that world. God will be present there, we will have eternal life, and that will constitute Heaven or be part of Heaven.

Behold, I will create new heavens and a new earth. The former things will not be remembered, nor will they come to mind. -Isaiah 65:17

Some of the OT writers wrote about that probably because they noticed that the earth seemed to be self sustaining and lasting seemingly endlessly but we know now that isnt the case. The NT makes it very clear this world is going to be destroyed!

I don't believe that for an instant. There are a large number of things that can wipe all of the life off of the earth. Everything from cataclysmic meteor impacts to global warming making the earth inhabitable.

Is that what you learnt in church today? The Bible also says that a man has a right to beat his wife (you believe that) and that a woman should walk behind the man (you believe that too).
