If you've got 240/110 power in the shed, use a CB radio powerpack. The output is clean and stable and the voltage is 13.8v, about the same as a car with the engine running.
DON'T use a battery charger, it will buzz and hum like hell!

You have mains in there? Just get a 12V power supply from Farnell (online) or maplin or somewhere. You could use a car battery charger for that but I don't recommend it - the controllers are designed to shove current into a battery, and they decide how much to shove by how much seems to fit (they tweak the amps depending on the volts). Car radio doesn't respond in same way as car battery. Could get unpleasant.
No mains? car battery, and charge it occasionally. Bit of a faff.
Want to do better than that? Solar panel plus battery should do the trick. You'll need some electronics to keep them together. I think Farnell and Maplin would be defeated on that one; I suggest the solar cell supplier would be best able to advise.

Maplin electronics do solar panels that are used in garages to charge car batteries when they are in there. You could get a car battery and wire it up to the solar panel. when you are not there the solar panel will trickle charge the battery. The stereo will take ages to drain the battery so you should be fine.
I use one in my shed and also run a 12V fluorescent tube off of it.

I used to run a mobile CB many years ago and we had power supplies that plugged into the mains and gave the 12v output with a high enough ampage to run it so I'm guessing that would do you.
This is simular to what I used to have

since it works without fascia and power goes when fitting we have a power cut off (earthing?) via fascia. either a connection is is being put under pressure when fitting causing it to move and lose its supply or it is contacting live feed and earthing it to ground ( unlikely as more often a fuse will blow) check for any strain on wiring, connectors. check fascia for fouling on fitting ( electrical). otherwise its off to dealer for a radio fit. though a specialist may Fit it easily enough.
