When watching high definition sports on my TV the picture is great. Why isn't it the same when I watch a DVD?

bcoz its really hard to choose a good quality dvd, but u can do few things to prevent its bad quality, by checking

1>dts 7.1 or 5.1ch audio.
2> thx certified.
3> dvd 9, dual layer dvd, back of the dvd would be like a normal audio cd, tintness with no colour , like blue , golden etc.
4> check its bitrate , while watching, must be atleast 5-8 mbps.

because DVD are not recorded in high definition

when you watchdvd the pictures quality is already in the disk
