Yes, it is lovely cooked like that! Nigella also has a recipe for sweetcorn pudding (see below) that goes really well with it!

I have a friend who used to boil her bacon when we first came into the country because she didn't like the saltiness. But she doesn't any longer.
I think the saltiness is the essence of the bacon, so instead of boiling it I eat it with unsalted scrambled eggs.

Ham boiled in coke is lovely, surprisingly, but then ham is nice a bit sweet. Havent tried boling a bacon joint in it - I usually keep changing the boiling water. One of my favourite dinners, boiled bacon, so I'll give it a try, thanks.

i love BB, but cooked in coke... ok, i belive you...
mind you i like cheese and jam... and crisps with salad cream...chilli with dark chocolate in it... or black treacle...
and pease pudding... with the boiling bacaon water..mmm, whats that going to taste like boiled in coke... and i love the salty taste.
