I will be flying next month and it's a 12+ hour flight. I have never flown for more than 4 hours. On top of that, I probably have "can't-sit-still syndrome!" What should I do to entertain myself for the long flight? (a movie is only 2 hours!) Heeelp! Thanks.

I recommened getting a PSP for your flight. Even if you're not much of a gamer, you can always use it for watching movies and listening to music while on your flight, then give it to your kid (if you have one) afterwards. It makes for good portable entertainment.

Drinking doesn't work (I've tried it many times).

Ask your doc for a prescription to Ambien (sleeping medication; but don't try and drive when you get off the plane).

Make sure you get a good seat. Book early, get to the airport early and request emergency isle seating, etc. Some airlines have more legroom; that helps.

Just after the plane takes off, look around and see if there is an open seat that is more desireable than the one you are in. If so, immediatly switch (before someone beats you to it). This is totally legit and airlines don't mind.

Make sure you have plenty of distractions. Books, magazines, laptop, electronic games, etc.

Of course you are hopefully on an isle seat so you can get up and walk around a bunch without distirbing people. Look at the layout of the plane. If there is an area by the restrooms or gally where you can hang out and look through the porthole, get a seat not too far from it (nor too close as this area can get congested and you don't want people distirbing you while you are trying to sleep)

communicate with the vet, and verify the vet is conscious your cat properly. sometimes drugs makes issues worse. in case you want to try this, provide kitty drugs at abode for an ordeal to make particular there are not any severe side outcomes. do no longer feed the cat suitable formerly you pass away by way of fact the cat will could pass to the bathing room and 12 hours is so very long in a service, verify that's a huge service so kitty can pass around and those agencies slide up and against the others that bring about animal's deaths by way of fact they suffocate. it incredibly is worrisome. call and ask the airlines if this has been corrected and in case you're able to call the information stations or maybe ask this back yet in a distinctive way and direct this to the airline workers. in the event that they do have stalls now that preclude them from sliding against one yet another, a delicate breatheable sheet, no longer doubled, over the service so it may no longer see the different cats or dogs will help the cat stay cool. sturdy success to you.

You'll be surprised how quickly the time goes with the onflight entertainment, meals, and of course - trying to sleep. Most long hauls I've taken have been overnight and I nearly always manage to sleep at least for partof the trip - if you have trouble sleeping, get your doctor to prescribe you some good sleeping tablets, it will help alot (but don't drive afterward - I wouldn't recommend that if you can avoid it after a long haul anyway)

I also recommend bringing a couple of good books, best way to make time fly if you can't sleep.

The last time I flew a long ways, I took a couple of strong sleeping pills and slept for 8 1/2 hours of the 11 hour trip. I didn't know a thing that went on during that time.

Well, the oxygen level in planes is usually lower than average, so sleep would be the best thing to make the time go by faster. Take a really good book with you to read. If you do any craft work with crocheting or knitting, take that also. There are hand held games (without obnoxious noises) to explore. Catch up on letter writing. There's a ton of stuff to do to occupy your time - get creative!

it depends where you are going. 2 months ago I came from Paris to Cincinnati. They had tv's in front of my seat and they started a new show every 15 minutes and they had about 5 movies. The flight from Paris is 9 hours, I watched all the 5 movies and time went past really fast.

It's not fun...I can't sit still either and was on a 9 hour flight this past summer...I would bring a book, CD player, DVD player, anything to keep you busy...it's very hard to sleep on those planes (especially if they are sold out)

Bring a laptop, books, and an iPod. Watch several movies, search the web, read some thing and listen to your favorite music. Time will just fly by.

Read, listen to music, write a letter to someone, play cards, do a puzzle book, text a friend, take a nap, knit something for someone. Good luck on your flight and be safe.
